The story tells that the Yin Walker, Master Xiao Shen, who is said to be able to walk between the living and the dead and communicate with ghosts in folk legends, has experienced three supernatural events, including ghost marriage, substitute disaster-relief, and inter-generational soul-return, from the time of apprenticeship to the achievement of his skills. He solved these strange events with his ability to walk in the underworld and, in the process, solved the confusion he had when he first became an apprentice and understood the truth that “people are both benefited and trapped by emotions”.
